Injection molding is a common manufacturing process used to produce a large number of parts, usually made of metal, glass, rubber or plastic. Injection molding is a bit like making jelly. The process involves injecting molten material into a mold and allowing it to cool to a solid state.
The process of injection molding is divided into 6 major steps as shown below.
Clamping--Injection- Dwelling---Cooling--Mold opening--Removal of products

Molding conditions Molding conditions refer to the barrel temperature, injection speed, mold temperature, etc. set in the molding machine to obtain the desired molded product, and there are countless combinations of conditions. Depending on the selected conditions, the appearance, dimensions and mechanical properties of the molded product can vary widely. Therefore, proven technology and experience are required to select the most suitable molding conditions.
Mold A mold is a hollow metal block into which molten plastic is injected to form a certain fixed shape. Although not shown in the picture below, there are actually many holes drilled in the block for temperature control via hot water, oil or heaters. Molten plastic flows into the mold through the gate and fills the cavity through the runner and gate. Then, the mold is opened after the cooling process, and the ejector rod of the injection molding machine pushes the ejector plate of the mold to further eject the mold.
Can be customized according to the drawings you provide
FAQ
Q1. How can I get a Quotation?
1) 3D with stp.(preferred) igs, st.prt. format
2) 2D drawing for tolerance/material/surface finish/test requirement/regulations
3) Quantity (by order, month and a Year) Contact us Now.
Q2: Can you make custom parts based on my sample?
Yes, you can send us the sample, we will evaluate the sample, scan the features and draft 3D drawing for production.
Q3. What is injection molding?
Injection molding is two large metal mold halves coming together, a plastic or rubber material is injected into the cavity they form. Even though the plastic materials being injected are melted, they aren’t really heated; the material is pressed into the injection ports (called gates) via a large auger screw. As the material is compressed, it heats and begins to flow into the molds. Once it cools, the two halves separate again and the part pops out. Repeat ten thousand times, and you have a run of injection molded parts ready for use.
Q4: What industries use injection molding?
A wide variety of industries benefit from the highly versatile process of injection molding, including: Medical & Pharmaceutical Eletronics Construction Food & Beverage Automotive Toys Agriculture Consumer Goods Sporting Goods
Q5. How long does an injection mold last?
How long an injection mold can last depends on several factors: mold material, number of cycles, operating conditions, and time between production runs. The life expectancy of an injection mold can range from 1M+ cycles to less than 500 cycles based on the above criteria.
For injection molding, the products will be sent for 15 days. And we support OEM and ODM.
